1st Session
Introduction to descriptive writings.
Students will be given an example of descriptive text
Students will be able to identify the structure of descriptive text, specifically the identification paragraph and description paragraph(s).
Group Division & Topic Selection
Students are divided into groups of, suggested, 4 people.Group division is determined by the teacher to ensure that the number of higher and lower achievers in each group is balanced.
In the group, students will select topic they will write about. They have three options to choose: Event, Place and People.
STUDENTS TASK
In groups, students need to do their data collection in three forms: interview, observation OR online research.
At the end of the week, students are required to complete their outline of descriptive text and submit to the teacher for review. Due: Before 2nd session.
2nd Session
First Draft Writing
Using the comments from the teacher, students will start working on their first draft while the teacher will monitor them.
Each group may work at their own pace

Students may continue to work on their First Draft at home.
3rd Session
Submission of Draft 1 (hardcopy)
Introduction to giving constructive feedback
Each group of students will be given “2 Stars and A Wish” forms as their peer feedback form. On that form, students will need to write down two strengths and one weakness of the friends’ works.
Teacher will explain and give examples of written feedback on the form.
Peer review (Gallery Walk)
Each group will set up a station for their 1st draft descriptive text.
Then, each group is assigned to go to one station which is not their own. They will use the “Two Star and A Wish” form to give feedback on their friends.
After 7 minutes, each group is rotated to a new station in a clockwise position in order to give feedback on another descriptive text.
The process repeats until each group has given feedback on all their classmates’ work.
STUDENTS TASK
Based on the peer feedback, students will work on the 2nd Draft of their descriptive text.
At the end of the week, students are required to complete their 2nd Draft of descriptive text and submit to the teacher for review. Due: Before 4th session
4th Session
Common mistakes
Teacher will share with the whole class the commonly made mistakes by all groups in their 2nd Draft.
Final Draft
Based on teacher’s review, students will work on their Final Draft.

At the end of the week, students are required to complete their Final Draft of descriptive text and submit to the teacher for review. Due: Before 5th session
5th Session
Videography
Teacher will invite a guest speaker who has some experience in videography to introduce basic tools and skills in video editing to the students.
Provided that there is no guest speaker, the teacher can give suggested links to help students with videography.
STUDENTS TASK
At the end of the week, each group need to finish their video and upload it on social media. Due: Before 6th session
6th Session
Presentation
Each group will deliver a simple presentation.
They need to share their video and reflection throughout the process.
STUDENTS TASK
At the end of the lesson, students will complete their final product and presentation.
